Essential Vitamins

Most people realize that it is very important to eat foods that are rich in vitamins, it is often very difficult to know which foods include which vitamins.

Although you may want to look at detailed tables for when looking for fuller details on the sources, and the concentrations of individual vitamins that you may be lacking, such as this one on Vitamin E for example, or this folic acid (B9) rich food list, I think that you will find that the diagram below is a very good starting point for getting a good overview of the thirteen major essential vitamins that the body requires.

Although it is not shown in the image above it is important to remember that one of the best ways of getting vitamin D into your system is from exposure to 15 minutes of sunlight per day; though you may require a longer exposure than this at high latitudes in the winter when the sun is weak. Of course if you are living in sunnier climes then it is important not to get so much exposure that your skin becomes burnt.
